DUNDEX’s Privacy Policy
DUNDEX is firmly committed to protecting the privacy of all users of this website, particularly those that entrust us with personally identifiable information, e.g. in the form of their curriculum vitae or other personal particulars that we require for our interaction with our UN partner agencies. Our commitment to this objective is reflected in this privacy policy which applies to the way we collect, store, use, protect or otherwise handle personally identifiable information in the context of this website.
How we collect information
We collect information from you, when you make use of the interactive functions of our website, e.g. when you fill out a form or in other ways enter information on our site (e.g. in the ‘Join DUNDEX’ questionnaire, the ‘Quick Query’, or the ‘Contact us’ function).
How we use information
We do not disclose your personally identifiable information to any entities other than UN agencies, nor for any purpose other than to further our efforts (a) to provide UN agencies with access to the best available development expertise for their short-term vacancies, and (b) to provide former UN staff with the best available intelligence about opportunities to return to the UN for time-limited (non-career) assignments.
DUNDEX employs a range of recognized techniques and security measures to protect the information maintained in our system from loss, unauthorized access or disclosure, misuse, alteration, or destruction. Any information provided to DUNDEX by the users of this website will be securely stored and will not be used in ways to which you have not consented explicitly or implicitly.
How we protect information
All our data are stored in a secure datacenter. Data center staff do not have access to any of the data on these systems. Data in our possession can only be accessed by staff from DUNDEX. The servers we use are maintained at a high level of security to reduce the risk of unauthorized access to our systems, and although no one can guarantee that security breaches can never happen, we consider the security of our data to be of paramount importance and have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure that breaches will not occur.
Moreover, our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make visits to our site as safe as possible. All sensitive information supplied to us (e.g. via the ‘Join DUNDEX’ questionnaire) is encrypted by means of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Moreover, it is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible to a very limited number of people (less than 10) whom we have granted special access rights, and who are duty-bound to keep all such information confidential.
Beyond that, DUNDEX does not under any circumstances permit ‘window shopping’ in our roster of former UN employees. This implies that UN hiring agencies cannot acquire and will not be given ‘viewing access’ to our roster. The names, biodata and other privileged information in our roster will be kept confidential and only shared with UN agencies in the context of particular job searches or ‘head-hunting’ efforts that are beneficial to the concerned persons in our roster.
